The year was 2018 and Annata was invited to co-host at Microsoft Inspire, where thousands of Microsoft partners and IT experts gathered to connect, collaborate and celebrate the Microsoft success as one community. The Annata team presented their pathway to success as one of Microsoft’s strategic partners in the Automotive Industry.
Annata CEO, Johann Johnson spoke about Annata’s focus on business applications and the connectivity with Microsoft’s technology assets that has not only driven digital transformation within Annata but has also allowed the company to drive operational efficacies through smarter processes and better insights to its clients.
In 2019, Annata announced its collaboration with Microsoft and other industry leaders, to create the open-source data model which is at the heart of the new Dynamics 365 Industry Accelerator for Automotive. This accelerator adds Annata’s industry-specific expertise to a common data model that can help speed time to market for ISVs seeking to develop new customer-centric approaches for marketing and sales processes within the automotive industry.
The Microsoft Common Data Model for Automotive is the first of its kind to provide a model that reflects industry best-practices, insight and integration across existing vehicle retail networks, and also incorporating emerging mobility businesses. Our goal is to build a community around customers and partners that want to collaborate and continue to improve upon industry best practices. A goal of the Automotive Accelerator program is to build a “Community CDM”, and not simply a “Microsoft CDM” , Smith Codio, Principal Program Manager at Microsoft.)
By partnering with Microsoft and sharing industry insights and experience to establish the Common Data Model, Annata can now serve their customers even better by driving more business value and digitally transform their business across the value chain on the Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform.
“Siloed data can hinder digital transformation and innovation in automotive organizations with varied legacy systems and lack of shared data languages, so it is great to see partners like Annata supporting and embracing the Dynamics 365 Industry Accelerator for Automotive,” said John Reed, Director Automotive Customer Experience Solutions, Microsoft. “Enabling great experiences across physical and digital channels through a customer’s buying process is key to success and with Annata, we have a great example of a partner enabling organizations to drive improved customer experiences.”
The Microsoft Industry team has already begun promoting the Automotive CDM to its customers and partners in an effort to ignite and support their digital transformation journey. Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella in his keynote at Build, applauded Annata as a great example of an ISV that combines the various Microsoft platforms to build next generation business applications for the automotive industry.
“Annata is building a solution for automotive and this is for fleet management, equipment rental companies inside of the automotive industry. They built (their solutions) on top of Dynamics 365 and they are using Power BI, cog services and integrating with Dynamics..”
